It runs in the family

Meleah has started "talking" and isn't stopping any time soon!

She must take after me...plug your ears little ponies!

My Apologies...for the dead horse

For those of you that know me, and I mean really know me, you know that I like to talk…a lot.

On Saturday Scott and I were enjoying a few moments of quiet while the kids were napping. I thought that this would be a good time to discuss a few things together. I thought this because it is often hard to talk when the kids are around. Many times I will attempt to discuss something with Scott or tell him something when we get home from work but then there is no response, until I stop talking and receive the “I was listening!”

So, back to Saturday…After talking (me talking, Scott “listening”) for awhile I stopped and asked if he had anything he wanted to talk about.

Scott: No, I think that you should take a break for awhile.
Me: Why? Am I talking too much for you?
Scott: You just go from one thing to another without stopping. And when you talk for 10 minutes on something that could have been done in two it is hard to focus the whole time.

The next comment was my favorite. I don’t remember the exact phrasing, but it was something like this:

I thought the horse was already dead, but apparently you didn’t think so.

So to all of you out there that have had to listen to my ramblings,
my apologies…for beating the dead horse.

And obviously talking it to death in the first place.

When no one was looking...

Most of the time when people ask Henry about his sister he acts like she doesn't exist. He will glance at her and then start talking about something else. Today was a little different, probably because he thought no one was looking.

"This is how it goes Meleah."

"I'll turn it on for you Meleah."

Helping Meleah with her puffs since she doesn't always get them in her mouth alone.

Playing teddies

Maybe someday they will be best friends...or at least they won't act like they don't know each other in public!

On the Move!

Meleah is on the move! She has been perfecting her rolling abilities for some time now and has kicked it up a notch to crawling. When we got home from work today my mom said that she went from one sofa to the other in search of her blankie, twice. As soon as things were settled again we had to give it a try. We up'd the anty a bit and put out a few of Henry's match box cars. It took a bit for Henry to let her go after them, but he helped us in cheering when she finally reached them. I say finally, but really she is pretty quick. There is no stopping her now!
